Nine rocks

Nine rocks with 836 m n. m. is the highest peak of the Žďárské vrchy Mountains and the second highest in Vysočina. The rock offers an almost circular view of the upper Svratka valley and the vast forests of the main ridge. The ascent to the viewpoint itself is easy, no climbing equipment is needed and even children can manage it. The name Nine Rocks was derived from the nine rock formations located within a radius of one kilometre, which form a small rock town. The view from the Nine Rocks is a popular tourist destination because of its easy accessibility. The rocks can be reached by several hiking trails from Křižánky, Herálec or from the parking lot Pod Lisovskou skálou.

The peak of the Nine Rocks in the Žďár Hills is a key point for European watercourses as it represents an important watershed between the North and Black Seas, known as the main European watershed. This geographical peculiarity means that the waters flowing out of the area are directed either to the North Sea via the Elbe (to the north-west) or to the Black Sea via the Danube (to the south-east). This watershed area is not only hydrologically significant, but also contributes to the rich ecosystem of the region, which is protected as part of the Žďár Hills Protected Landscape Area. We are on the imaginary roof of Europe, although the peaks here do not reach dizzying heights.

On the route from Křižánky you will be accompanied by the Our Trees Nature Trail.
